Such pretty colors! Don't you just love spring flowers? We were gone for 10 days and my herb garden flourished. Spring and summer make life worth living!

Recently I read a devotional from "The Upper Room" that asked the question, garden or gardener? Most people would love to have a beautiful garden with bright, colorful flowers. The question is do they want to be a gardener and tend to the mundane details of weeding, watering and caring for their garden? It's a great analogy regarding my relationship with God. I deperately want to have a close and meaningful relationship with my Creator but do I tend to my garden? Do I put in the work required to have that relationship spending time in prayer and study? My desire is to be a gardener for God and this blog is a series of reflections and lessons as I work toward that goal.

And a challenge for anyone reading: garden or gardener?
