While she was my roommate, she had a hard time holding on to her money long enough to pay her portion of the rent We had to drive to Haines because she had spent the money that was meant for the ferry ride. Don't get me wrong, Cheri was one of my best friends in the world. Have so many memories of that time and if I hadn't met her, I wouldn't have meant my husband of 35 years. RIP Cheri!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16486943217975872859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8933411192477079109.post-32135704935335006302010-11-07T12:17:51.783-08:002010-11-07T12:17:51.783-08:00I was thinking about Cheri this morning and rememb...I was thinking about Cheri this morning and remembering her trip to see me when I moved to Denver. It was quite an adventure for the two of us. I can't remember exactly how we got together but somehow we ended up at my dad's house in Klamath Falls. I spent the summers with my dad since my folks were divorced. I remember a long bus ride through Oregon (probably from the Seattle area where my Uncle lived) to Klamath. Then I believe we flew to Denver. We went to a huge outdoor concert together to see Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (amazing experience). She went to another concert without me because I had managed to get myself grounded while she was visiting. We may have taken the bus downtown Denver to see The Exorcist. I was horrified, but Cheri loved a good, dark story. (She introduced me to the Dark Shadows book series one dark night in the old farmhouse we lived it.) LOL...funny that I woke up thinking of these times this morning. She was a fun person to hang out with...that's for sure! I wish we could have known each other as adults. <3Chickadeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11195072440198601548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8933411192477079109.post-43606490195794148882010-10-26T12:53:06.785-07:002010-10-26T12:53:06.785-07:00***"When I asked for “bites” one time she too...***"When I asked for “bites” one time she took one cheese puff out of the bag and broke it in half and handed it to me."***

That's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time! Thanks for the laughs! Although Cheri and I were not close friends, I was invited to her house a couple of times. My greatest memory is of her singing voice. She was 2nd only to Stevie Nicks in my book! Really great post Kathy!Suddenly Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12483813654827621158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8933411192477079109.post-44976484175319691562010-10-26T12:05:02.787-07:002010-10-26T12:05:02.787-07:00Ah...Cheri. I spent a lot of time at her house and she at mine. I once asked her as an adult about her relationship with Eva and how it was going. She acted a little startled in a "why would you say THAT" kind of way. I reminded her of the stories that she used to tell me about how Eva was so mean to her, sometimes not even setting a place for her at the dinner table. Her reply? "Oh we're great. I made all that up!" Cheri being a character is right!Chickadeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11195072440198601548noreply@blogger.com
